The mature salmon showed up in good numbers 9/8 after all that northeast wind. They have slowly progresed up the river to spawn. The deep water steelhead bite is nothing short of fantastic. There are still some mature kings out there as well as 2yr olds. This year class of fish are some of the largest we have seen in 10 years.(lots of bait) I would say the average is around 24 or 25lbs. We need a weather change to bring some more salmon into the river. Sounds like this week. Stay tuned,,,,,,,

I just finished running 14 trips in the last 10 days. The bite has been as good as you would ever want it. The browns, salmon and a few lakers with a couple of rainbows thrown in the mix have been the normal catch. Some days there are more salmon then others. They are moving around looking for that special girl they want. My last trip was offshore to find some steelhead, 2yr old salmon and matures. We found the mother lode of steelhead. The boys from n.j. had a ball. They heard me yell reel more times then i care to admit. I boated a 32.14lb and a whopping 35.53lb salmon so far this year. These are the biggest fish Hookedup has seen in several years. This year has some some very large and healthy salmon. I will be fishing to the end of september this year. Stay tuned.

The last 6 of the 8 trips have been offshore in the 400 to 600 ft range. The water has been stable there and so is the bait. The inside waters have had salmon come and go, leaving us to catch browns, some salmon and lake trout with the occasional steelhead. The deep water has had 2 year old salmon and matures, along with plenty of steelhead action. The last few charters i have fished the inside waters and found plenty of fish. This should only get better as september rolls near. 31lbs has been the largest for hookedup so far, with plenty of mid to upper 20″s. This september looks like it should have some slobs to tussle with. I will try to write reports at every two weeks if not sooner.

That should be changing soon, with more salmon action as they move closer and loosely school up, to get their last feeding in before they make their spawning run up the genesee river. The bites have ranged from 15 to 30 or so a day. If you can capitalize on those you are in. Stay tuned i am out for 6 more trips this week. GO FISHING!

The fish stay around, and the temperature doesnt move all that much. I am still fishing under 200ft of water, mostly 120 to 70ft. King salmon, browns, rainbows, and lots of lake trout have been chewing quite nicely. Limit catches have been the norm rather than the exception. I still have some days left in july, as well as august. This year has been AWESOME! Dont miss it, give me a call. I am sorry it took so long to get a new report out. Our internet service was out while we were moving.

The deeper waters are where the steelhead, kings, cohoes and lake trout are camping out at. The bait is just starting to move in which will put the browns in a feeding frenzy, and leave the other fish out deeper hungry. Dont miss the action, give me a call and lets go fishin.
