The only difference is there is more salmon around, and the steelhead are starting to concentrate on the surface breaks. I am not picking on the browns right now unless requested, saving them for later. I will try to update reports at least every 2 weeks, even though i am out every weekend and then some. Drop me a email or call if you are looking for a trip, i still have a few days avilable.

Hookedup placed 1st in the salmon division on the morning trip, with a 18.5lb salmon. In the afternoon trip Hookedup placed first in the lake trout division with a 21.5lber, what a beauty. They had that fish picked up and mounted by our local taxidermy. Fishing still remains great, cant wait for the steelhead to get wound up. By the way this was the most fish the red cross has seen.

Fishing continues to be absolutely phenominal! April was the best i can EVER remember in my 35 years of fishing the big lake O. Numbers, size, and species, we had it all. The lake is setting up to have some great steelhead fishing. We just started to grab a few in the last trips out. Salmon are still hanging around along with the lakers. Brownies are cooperating quite nicely as well. I do have some days in june that i would like to book up. This is year is looking to be fantastic. It is hard to beat last year fishing, but mother nature is sure trying. Stay tuned

The day started flat calm, like a mill pond. That was only good for a hour or so, then the north east fans kicked on. That wasnt supposed to happen, you gotta love the weather men. We had a great day of fishing despite mother nature. Both days were new guys from p.a.. They have never seen brown trout of that size and numbers. They had 20 to 35 bites each day of hungry browns. They caught 1 lake trout as well. The winds blew sunday so i had to reschedule that trip. The big school of bait is not in yet to spawn, that is good for the fisherman because the fish are HUNGRY. I will be out again at the end of the week, stay tuned.

The water has been calm and that is typical until we get a weather change, likr this week. There were a pile of salmon around saturday, then moved on us to who knows where for sundays trip. They will be back, they didnt go far. The bait is moving in and so the good fishing will continue. The brownies are still chewing nicely, keep tuned.

We had 2 pike, 1 atlantic, 1 walleye, 2 king salmon, and the rest were brown trout. The biggest was pushing 14lbs. Spring fishing does not get any better than that. This is a awesome time to get the kids out to do some fishing, and dont forget the adults as well. Stay tuned

My group of 5 showed at 6:30 am and we were on our way to irondequoit bay area. The water was milky green which is perfect for hiding bait and fish. We set our ten rods and trolled east to 9 mile pt (hedges) and then back to i-bay. We had steady action along the shoreline. The crew had 36 bites and landed 24 fish. 22 were browns, one coho salmon(first one i heard caught) and a northern pike. The spring fishing is looking to be awesome again. If you are thinking about a trip in the near future, i do have a few openings. I will be out this thursday, friday, sat and sun. Stay tuned,Capt. Bruce

The unusally warm weather has sparked people to fish, and the fact that winter never showed up prompted me to put the boat in the water 2 weeks earlier then usual. The first trip was 3/25. I trolled west for 4 hours looking for cleaner water, it never happened. We then motored east for 13 miles, set up, and managed to capture 14 fish out of the 26 bites we had. I could only imagine how many bites we would of had if we were there first thing. The biggest was 12+lbs, and all were brownies. I have a bunch of spring charters lined up so stay tuned. Capt. Bruce

The mature salmon showed up in good numbers 9/8 after all that northeast wind. They have slowly progresed up the river to spawn. The deep water steelhead bite is nothing short of fantastic. There are still some mature kings out there as well as 2yr olds. This year class of fish are some of the largest we have seen in 10 years.(lots of bait) I would say the average is around 24 or 25lbs. We need a weather change to bring some more salmon into the river. Sounds like this week. Stay tuned,,,,,,,
