Mid to late june

The cooler weather has kept the water from warming up like it would usually be. The thermocline is just starting to develop. There is a ton of bait around for the fish to nibble on. The browns are still in the 30ft or less zone. The lake trout and salmon have been hanging in the 80ft to 120ft. I have caught lake trout up to 20lbs in the last week. Those are some trophy fish. My client is presently in 4th place in the l.o.c. derby that goes on till 7/28. I have had some quality browns up to 16lbs as well, and of course they were not in the derby. That happens way too much. Its like playing lotto with a 10,000$ final payout. Hey, you never know what is going to chew on your lures next. All in all fishing remains solid, with more salmon being caught as the summer starts. I do have some evening trips available which are 5hrs. They run from 3pm to 8pm, and can be very productive. I also have some days during the week that are open for a 8hr trip. I will be back with another report in a week.
