September salmon fishing

I can’t believe it’s this time of the year already. Seems like I just put the boat in 2 months ago. Well the salmon are starting to congregate around the river thinking about their spawning run. I fished there 9/8 and we went 2 for 6. One broke us off and the others well,,,,,,,, The deeper water is still holding mature kings with browns and lakers. The steelhead are there too but not in big numbers yet, just a matter of time. Everything seems to be a couple weeks late, just like the whole season has been. 27lbs is the biggest salmon so far on my boat. Rochester took the fall derby with a 33lb beautie. There is still a lot of good fishing to be had, and I do have a some slots to fish available. This was one of my busiest season with 34 trips in august alone.
