Thinking Spring

Well winter is finally disappearing slowly. Now is the time to think spring and the early spring bite on Lake Ontario. The fish are hungry from the long winter as well, so that brings them to the shallows looking for food. Brown trout were not in big numbers last year spring time, that was a lake wide observation and nobody knows why. They showed up all summer long as well as the smaller one’s which is this year’s main catch. Once again even the biologists didn’t have a clue, but they showed up. The steelhead and lake trout with a few salmon made the spring bite interesting. The fishing got a lot better as the season went on. I am anticipating a awesome brownie bite based on the cold winter we had. The salmon seem to show up in the spring a lot earlier when we have a colder than normal winter. I hope this holds true again. I was busy last year with a 192 trips. If you are thinking about fishing with me and HOOKEDUP try not to delay so you get the date you would like. Look forward to fish with you and your crew. I will try to keep up with the reports.
